The Innocents chillingly subverts the purity of youth in a powerfully acted thriller that lingers long after the credits roll.

And an appreciation for old-fashioned emotion and unexpected heroism. It’s hard to frame The Innocents as a feel-good movie, but there’s much in it that’s ennobling as well as disturbing, and satisfyingly weird. Ernest I had no idea that it was a foreign film with subtitles. After a few minutes I got used to reading the dialog. The Horror genre of the fim sneaks up onyou, well done. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/23/22 Full Review chris h I cannot praise this film enough. Very slow, but be patient because it delivers an amazing story. The child actors are stunning, Alva Brysmo Ramstad is outstanding, forget the flaccid Oscars, this is what brilliant acting is about, not showy bullshit "performance" but natural, engaging and in this case chilling. It captures the cruelty, viscousness and innocence, hence the title, of what it is to be a child. I highly recommend this movie, one of the best I have seen this year. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review David W Quietly powerful, affecting and very well acted by the young cast. It didn't fully explain some aspects such the reason for their abilities but maybe that made it all the more mysterious. It stayed with me long after I'd watched it, which is often the mark of an excellent movie. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Josie S The plot was tense enough to hold my attention but the ending scene with a frickin' vortex of little blonde haired blue eyed nordic children solemnly watching as two of their own murder a brown boy is just a bit too questionable for my taste given the general attitude toward immigrants in the nordics. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Rob G Was an entertaining movie. The only thing that keeps this at 3 stars vs higher is the fact the plot did not explain how all of these kids acquired their special gifts. I get you need to have a certain suspension of disbelief when watching certain movies but c'mon. How exactly did these kids get these abilities? Just seems they could have explained something,. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review Arch S Utter garbage. Unrelentingly annoying. Repulsive.
